Ergonomics has been manufacturing top quality office and computer
furniture and computer accessories since the 1970's.
Originally
we manufactured Acoustic Hoods to cover noisy computer printers.
Mostly they were privately labelled and carried the brands
of Wang, NCR, Burroughs, ICL, Remington and other famous names
of the day. Our products were often sold with the computer
hardware and never became part of the specification for the
fitout of the premises into which they were going.
Our
product range expanded as we listened to what the users of
the computer equipment actually needed to make the computers
work for them. we pioneered printer stands, adjustable work
stations, ergonomic chairs, anti-glare filters, monitor arms
and many other products.
We
committed ourselves to ensure that the products which we supplied
met the highest ergonomic standards available and where standards
were not available or outdated by the new technologies we
set new higher standards. We employed the best industrial
designers.We learnt from them and often taught them, focussing
on ergonomic functionality. These days virtually every manufacturer
of office furniture claims to supply ergonomically designed
products, but true expertise is not as freely available as
these claims.
As
new technology has become more ubiquitous we are finding that
people expect a more integrated approach between office machines
and people; they need to work together in a way that is comfortable,
productive and pleasurable.
While
our designs remain rooted in ergonomic functionality, increasingly
they are presented with a greater emphasis on the style which
makes them not only useful, but usable.
Environment
Statement
The
products sold by Sylex Ergonomics conform to the highest standards
of environmental care.
Timbers:
All timbers used, are grown as renewable resources.
We
do not use rainforest timbers in our products.
All
timbers are Australian or New Zealand grown.
Packaging
Where
available from our suppliers we use recycled packaging and
will reuse original cartons.
Our
packaging contains no ozone depleting CFC'c.
Should
you wish to return packing material to your local Sylex office
we will ensure that they are recycled.
Waste
C.N.C.
based machines and continual logistics improvements are resulting
in ongoing waste reduction.
