The design brief for the e-scape range was simple; make it the most computer-useful furniture ever created, make it modular and make it stylish. Research found that lots of computer users have had to make compromises with their traditional office furniture so we designed this product from the ground up, without assumptions about howoffice furniture looks or works, just a list of needs to satisfy:
• sound ergonomics
• contemporary styling
• integration of IT hardware
• shapes that fit people
• simple cabling solutions
• flexibility of geometric shapes
• ease of office reconfiguration
This approach generated many new solutions to the problem of making people, furniture and
computers work in harmony; new ideas; new direction; an escape from everything which has
come before it.
